Deribit gets its name from its product: Bitcoin derivatives. Offering both futures and perpetual contracts, as well as options for Bitcoin and Ethereum, Deribit is a fairly young company that is headquartered in Panama.
Their ranking is justified by the equal weight of good and bad. They offer insurance, which stands out, and there is also high leverage for those that want it (1:100 for derivatives, and 1:10 on options), but the offering is limited; the costs add up, and, only BTC deposits are accepted which is unusual for a futures trading platform.

How to open an account
Step 1
Click on Create Account from the homepage, and enter the following details
- Email address
- Nickname or alias
- Country of residence
Choose a password, agree to the Terms & Conditions and submit
Step 2
Check your inbox and verify your email address to activate your account
Step 3
You can now sign in with your registered email and password. Click on your username in the top right corner, and go to Deposit to add either ETH or BTC to your account.
Step 4
The final step is to ensure you verify the account to unlock your deposit limits.
Head to the Verification tab to complete the two verification levels, submitting:
- Your full name
- Your date of birth
- Your residential address
- A valid, colour copy of an ID document

Switch between the Bitcoin and Ethereum tabs in the top left to start trading
What can I trade?
Deribit offers perpetual and futures derivatives and options contracts for BTC and ETH.
What are the costs?
- On maker orders, BTC futures and perpetual contracts offer a 0.025% rebate
- On taker orders, BTC futures and perpetual contracts charge a 0.075% fee
- Liquidation fee of 0.5% on BTC and 0.9% on ETH futures and perpetual
- Liquidation fee on options contacts of 0.19% of the underlying asset
- Withdrawal fee dependent on the state of the Bitcoin network

I am very satisfied with this, it’s probably the best retail broker I’ve seen to
date. Their withdrawals can take a while and only one account option with
fixed spreads, but overall good conditions, well organized and reliable. I can
even request to get my transaction history monthly report, order by order, and
it really comes in handy! A lot of options for charting, and I usually use them
for trades I am going to close the same day.
Fast and easy withdrawal process. Smooth transactions and customer
supports are easy to deal with.
